How we work together
This code of conduct applies to all GBA members, chapter and working group leaders, speakers, volunteers and staff, in every GBA forum — in person, online, and in written and AI-assisted communications.
Integrity
Act honestly and in good faith. Do not misrepresent facts, credentials, affiliations or the state of a technology.
Respect
Treat every participant with courtesy regardless of role, seniority, nationality, background or point of view. Harassment and personal attacks have no place in GBA.
Constructive dialogue
Disagree with ideas, not with people. GBA convenes government and industry precisely so that difficult questions can be asked in the open.
Responsible use of AI-enabled communications
AI-generated or AI-assisted content used in GBA communications must be reviewed by a person, must be accurate, and must not be presented in a way that misleads recipients about its origin.
Confidentiality
Respect information shared in confidence by members, agencies and assessed organizations. Do not republish non-public material without permission.
Accurate representation of GBA
Do not speak on behalf of the association, a chapter or a working group without authority to do so, and do not imply GBA endorsement of a product, vendor or political position.
Conflicts of interest
Disclose any commercial or personal interest that could reasonably be seen to influence your contribution to GBA work, particularly in standards and assessment activities.
Legal compliance
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those governing competition, export control, procurement, securities and data protection.
Responsible public representation
When representing GBA publicly, be clear about which statements are the association's published positions and which are your own.
Feedback and correction
Raise concerns early and directly. GBA would rather correct a problem than defend one.
Breaches are handled by GBA leadership in confidence. Raise anything you are uncertain about early — it is easier to correct a problem than defend one.
