IGF Dynamic Coalition
Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization
GBA hosts DC-BAS, intersessional work of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum, bringing government leaders and stakeholders together around trustworthy blockchain adoption.
The Internet Governance Forum (IGF), convened by the United Nations Secretary-General, is the global multistakeholder forum for dialogue on Internet governance issues. It meets each year, is hosted by a different country, and typically draws around ten thousand participants.
Between annual meetings the IGF carries out intersessional work through Dynamic Coalitions. The Government Blockchain Association hosts the Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization (DC-BAS), established to connect, communicate and collaborate with government leaders and stakeholders on using blockchain technology to improve public services.
What the coalition does
Pilots
It pilots blockchain solutions to demonstrate the value of the technology in addressing public sector mandates and challenges.
IGF programming
It manages the programming and hosting of physical and virtual blockchain-related content at the annual IGF meeting.
The Blockchain Maturity Model at the centre
The centerpiece of DC-BAS is the Blockchain Maturity Model, a framework for evaluating the trustworthiness of blockchain solutions. It gives solution developers a roadmap and gives investors, customers and acquisition officials confidence in the solutions they consider.
Solutions assessed by BMM assessment partners are published in a directory of trusted blockchain solutions showcased by this Dynamic Coalition, which is recognised by the United Nations Internet Governance Forum. The coalition also informs and guides the team developing and maintaining the BMM.
